Unfortunate Turn of Events

by David Brown

It was a nice summer afternoon. I had just gotten off of a great day at work and was going home to the wife and kids. I proceed to turn onto my street, and to my surprise I see two firetrucks and a crowd of people. As I get closer to the scene I'm thinking to myself, "please don't be by house."

But unfortunately, it was my house that had caught on fire. Apparently my 5 year old left the water running in the tub, which caused a short. Everyone was alright but there was incredible damage to the upstairs.

Although I did have insurance I had not taken a tally of all important things to mention to the insurance company in case of fire damage or tornado damage. Mostly my entertainment items were damaged. But the insurance company wouldn't accept our claim with out receipts.

I believe if equipped with Everything I Own the whole situation would have gone a lot more smoothly.
